VPNresellers supports multiple connection protocols so partners can serve different devices, applications and network conditions.
Standard VPN protocols
Our VPN infrastructure supports:
- WireGuard — Our recommended option for most modern VPN connections. WireGuard typically offers excellent performance with low overhead and modern cryptography.
- OpenVPN — A mature and widely supported VPN protocol with broad platform compatibility and flexible configuration options.
- IKEv2/IPsec — Particularly useful on mobile devices because of its ability to reconnect quickly when switching between Wi-Fi and mobile networks.
- L2TP/IPsec — A legacy option maintained for compatibility with devices or systems that require it.
- PPTP — A legacy protocol provided for compatibility with older systems. It should not be positioned as the preferred option where modern security is required.
VLESS for restrictive networks
VPNresellers also provides VLESS connectivity through our API for partners developing their own VPN applications.
VLESS can provide an additional connection option in challenging or restrictive network environments where conventional VPN traffic may face filtering or interference.
Developers can use the VPNresellers API to:
- retrieve available VLESS servers
- retrieve account-specific VLESS configurations
- integrate VLESS connectivity into their own VPN application

Which protocol should I use?
For ordinary VPN connections, WireGuard is generally our recommended starting point because of its speed and efficiency.
OpenVPN remains an excellent option when broad compatibility and configuration flexibility are important.
IKEv2 is useful for mobile users who frequently switch networks.
VLESS is particularly relevant when building connectivity for restrictive network environments.
There is no single protocol that is best for every situation.
